A post about post: Saturn Suikoden!

I wasn’t going to write a post about this game to be honest, I thought it was pretty well known and not of any particular interest. General reactions on Twitter seem to suggest otherwise though, so here we are!

A quick skim of the internet reveals that this port came out in 1997, two years after the original Playstation version. While the 3D textures are slightly worse (always disappointing, but not really a surprise) it does have a completely new intro as well as some new dialogue, minigames and a few small events. The music has apparently been arranged too, but it’s been so long since I played through the original Suikoden I can’t remember the originals well enough to compare.

From my brief time with the game it seems like a great port (unlike Symphony of the Night, grumble grumble) and I’m looking forward to revisiting this famous Konami RPG soon!

Ooh and if you want, I uploaded a few more screenshots to my Tumblr.
