Hardbound and totalling 775 pages, this book contains not only the scripts for all three games in the Gagharv Trilogy (Legend of Heroes 3 – 5) but illustrations and data too.
The book is divided into three main sections, one for each game. Each of these sections are laid out in the same way, starting with several pieces of full-page art used in various promotional situations or packaging then moving onto character and world data.
The character chapters take a look at all the major members of the cast, showing each of them as sprites and illustrations (including an example of their original PC-98 designs for LoH 3 and 4) as well as a short biography and a few screenshots of them in game. The “View of the World” chapters follow a similar layout, first of all taking a look over the entire region then going into detail about particular towns or other places of interest.
The bulk of the book is naturally taken up by the next section – the scripts. While not totally comprehensive (side quest/misc. dialogue is omitted) it does cover the entirety of the main storyline for each game, including prologues and epilogues. Each chapter starts with a map of the area showing the party’s route with page numbers for reference.
The final section of the book contains a timeline of events through all three games as well as recurring characters and items (including changed appearances), before finally ending with a short preview of the then unreleased Legend of Heroes 6.
