Call Waiting: An epic EP with art by me! (Hey, that rhymed!)

If you’ve been following me on Twitter (and if you don’t, please do!) you might have spotted that I do enjoy a bit of doodling every now and then. What you wouldn’t have known is that I’ve been working in secret with musician Sam d'Uva on the cover for her new EP! Here’s the art -

Sam’s aim is to provide a mix of classic gaming tunes and original work to be used as phone ringtones, but these aren’t mere five second clips of emulated Mario music – the tracks here are going to be around half a minute to just over a full minute in length and made using a combination of the Synthboy+ and any of Sam’s impressive collection of other synthesizer hardware (that’s the real stuff, not software synth PC programs).

The final tracklist hasn’t been decided yet but the aim is to avoid the obvious Zelda/Mario tunes and go with classics that are just as good but need more love, such as Landstalker, Bubble Bobble and Journey to Silius. Sam hopes to have the EP out by early March for less than $10 – bargain!

If you can’t wait until then to hear Sam’s music, have a listen to these tracks:
